Copper Coins: Early one paisa coins, struck in copper, reflected the traditional material used for low denomination coins.

 Brass Coins: The introduction of brass coins represented a shift towards more durable and slightly cheaper materials, while still maintaining almost same weight and  size as copper coins.

Aluminum Coins: As aluminum is lightweight and cost-effective, the switch to aluminum in the 1970s allowed for mass production of one paisa coins at a lower cost, although they were more prone to wear and corrosion.
