Republic India Twenty Five Paise Coins (1950-2011)

First Republic India quarter rupee coin made of nickle was issued in 1950. The term used for quarter rupee in Hindi was” CHAR AANA” later in 1957 term changed to 25 Naye Paise. Again in 1964 with new design of quarter rupee the term was changed to 25 Paise. In 1988 with new design 25 paisa coin went steel and was in circulation till 2011 after which Coins of denomination of 25 paise and below were withdrawn from circulation
